PAST Homecomings

Homecoming 2008

The 50th Anniversary celebration of Cal State Fullerton continued with the inaugural Titan Basketball Homecoming celebration and Alumni Association Annual meeting on Saturday, February 16. Almost 300 proud Fullerton alumni, students, friends and family gathered for a day of sunshine and Titan camaraderie before an exciting game with our leading Titan men’s basketball team.

The fun began at the Golleher Alumni House with the alumni association annual meeting and an update from alumni association president, Greg Nelson. Nelson recapped the many events, programs and accomplishments of the association during the past year and encouraged alumni to get involved during the 50th Anniversary. Guests enjoyed pre-game popcorn, cotton candy and soft drinks while listening to special "Chalk Talk" by Associate Titan Basketball Coach Andy Newman. Athletics Director Brain Quinn recognized several of the 77-78 Titan Basketball alumni in attendance before everyone headed over to the gym for the tailgate and basketball game versus University of the Pacific.

The Titan Band entertained as the crowd enjoyed a delicious barbeque and visited the various student and alumni organizations and the Athletics Tent Sale. All in attendance received a specially designed Homecoming t-shirt to commemorate the event. The tip-off was at 4:05 p.m. and the game was televised by Fox Sports. The Titans led the score throughout the game, keeping fans cheering with fancy footwork, fast breaks, 3-point shots and slam-dunks that led them to victory with a final score of 92 - 78. This game propelled the Titans into a first place tie with Cal State Northridge in the Big West Conference.
