TITAN ALUMNI UPDATE (COVID-19)

A message from Alumni Engagement

March 18, 2020

Dear Titan Alumni,

Last week seems like it was last year. Last week we were celebrating the success of Dinners with 12 Titans, planning for GradFest, Night of the Pachyderm, Showcase New York and other events and activities. Changes occurred daily, sometimes hourly, and it was hard to keep up. I know you, too, have been going through the same in your personal and professional life.

In alignment with guidance from the CSU Chancellor’s Office and public health officials, CSUF is taking measures to further enhance efforts to protect the health and safety of all Titans, their families, and the broader Orange County community. Effective March 17, 2020, the CSUF campus is temporarily suspending all non-essential on-campus functions and expanding mandatory virtual instruction to include labs, studios, and all other face-to-face teaching modalities until at least May 22, 2020, subject to any change in circumstances.

The Alumni Engagement staff will be working normally but remotely and not on campus. The Golleher Alumni House is not accessible to the public at the moment, and events that were scheduled at the House have been canceled or postponed.

Commencement 2020

The 2020 commencement ceremonies have been postponed but NOT canceled. This decision was not made lightly but is prudent considering the guidelines from local and national authorities. New dates and schedules will be announced when determined. For the latest news around commencement, please visit the commencement websiteOpens in new window .

Titans of Impact

If you or a fellow Titan are taking the initiative around the current COVID-19 situation to make a positive impact in any capacity, please share those stories via alumniengagement@fullerton.eduOpens in new window . This is a trying time for our community, but we know we have Titans making an impact in various ways.

The CSUF official COVID-19 websiteOpens in new window  is the best resource for up-to-date information. Please do not hesitate to contact the alumni officeOpens in new window should you have any questions regarding the campus response to COVID-19. We may not have the answer but can probably direct you to the right resource.

Thank you all for your understanding during this challenging time. Please take care of yourselves, your families, friends, and check in on neighbors and shut-ins.

It Takes a Titan,
