Timothy P. Lattimer ’81, ’90 (B.A. economics, M.S. environmental studies) was appointed administrator of the Office of Community Sustainability in Howard County. He formerly served as a career diplomat in the U.S. Department of State’s Global Change, where he took part in the Paris Agreement on climate change in 2015.
Moses Gonzales ’99 (B.A. business administration-management) was promoted to associate principal of Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm. He is tasked with the management of the firm’s information technology team.
Arthur Gharakhanian ’06 (B.A. business administration-finance) was appointed chief financial officer at Stellant Systems. He brings over 10 years of executive leadership experience in finance and accounting at private equity firms in the aerospace and defense and medical device industries.
Vaniah De Rojas ’09, ’11 (B.A. business administration-management, MBA) was selected by Assemblywoman Blanca Pacheco as one of the 2023 Women of the Year for the 64th Assembly District. She was also appointed to the position of assistant city manager for the city of Downey.
Aisha Rivera ’18 (B.A. psychology, theatre arts) was appointed Napa County Poet Laureate by the Napa County Board of Supervisors. In this role, Rivera will promote poetry, develop meaningful connections with the community and undertake projects that make poetry more accessible to people in their everyday lives.
Tom Knego ’83 (B.A. political science) recently retired after a long career in the field of health care law, where he was a partner in a Los Angeles law firm and subsequently senior deputy counsel for United Health. He now teaches health care law at Cal State Long Beach and serves on various nonprofit boards.
Tim Plumley ’04 (B.A. communications-journalism, American studies) was promoted to vice president of media and artist relations at Universal Media Enterprises. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, he strategizes and implements 36-degree catalog media campaigns for diverse artists, including frontline album releases.
Steven Combre ’93 (B.A. criminal justice), was appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom as assistant deputy director of security and law enforcement for the California State Lottery. Combre has more than 28 years of experience in the field law enforcement.
Alma Reyes ’03 (B.A. criminal justice) was promoted to deputy city manager of Costa Mesa. She formerly served as city manager, management analyst and recreation supervisor.
