Dave Zieg ’94 (B.A. biological science) joins Alliant Insurance Services as first vice president, national director of clinical services. Zieg is board-certified in family and lifestyle medicine, and has more than two decades of experience in clinical and executive leadership.
Joanna Chavez ’15 (M.S. statistics) joins Chino’s Planning Commission as the new commissioner. She is the senior product manager at Security Scorecard and has worked extensively in data analytics and business intelligence.
Parand Salmassinia ’97 (B.A. biological science, psychology) was appointed president of personal care and aroma for DSM, a global health, nutrition and bioscience company. Salmassinia has more than 20 years of experience in the personal care industry.
Ramin Baschshi ’99 (B.S. biological science) is CEO and president of Unlimited Possibilities, an Orange County nonprofit providing disability services to over 5,000 children and families every year. Baschsci, who graduated from Xavier University School of Medicine, previously served as chief operating officer for Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles.
Gabriel-Philip Santos ’18 (M.S. geology) and Brittney Stoneburg ’21 (M.S. environmental studies) were honored with the 2022 John and Mary Lou Pojeta Award from the Paleontological Society to recognize exceptional professional or public service above and beyond that of existing formal roles or responsibilities.
