Julie Miller-Phipps ’83 (B.A. sociology) was elected to Orange County United Way’s board of directors. She is the co-founder and principal consultant at Collaborative Innovation Partners and serves on the 2-1-1 Orange County Leadership Council. She previously served as the president for Kaiser Permanente, Southern California and Hawaii.
Christine Hernandez ’09 (B.A. English) was appointed to the city of Westminster’s Parks and Recreation Commission.

Richard (Tony) Contratto ’05 (B.A. criminal justice), executive director of Havasu Helping Girls, was featured in an article by the Havasu News-Herald for his role in forging a partnership with local schools. Havasu Helping Girls is a nonprofit focused on menstrual equity, research and advocacy, and leadership education.
